The 2026 apprenticeship intake at the Bachner Group showcases the diversity of the electrical industry

The skilled trades are booming again—and are therefore becoming increasingly attractive to young people as they choose a career. That’s why we at the Bachner Group focus on offering a diverse range of training programs: Seven different technical and planning professions are available. As of September 1, we were able to fill these positions with 18 apprentices. After a personal welcome from management and informative kick-off days with the training team, these highly motivated apprentices are now ready to dive into their training period.

Dr. Ralf Gaffal, Managing Director of the Bachner Group, attributes the growing enthusiasm within the electrical and energy sector to the rapidly changing scope of work: “The electrical trade is more attractive than ever, as its many subfields are becoming increasingly innovative: digitalization, robotics, and automation, as well as the expansion of renewable energy, make apprenticeship positions in this industry true jobs of the future.”

Seven promising careers at six training locations

In Landshut, the next generation of professionals is enrolled in a dual degree program in electrical engineering and building automation—combining engineering studies with hands-on work experience in innovative smart homes. The aspiring electronics technicians for energy and building technology, on the other hand, learn their trade—focusing on power supply and electronic building control—in Dingolfing, Ingolstadt, or Oberschleißheim.

Office management specialists are trained right in Mainburg, as are electronics technicians for building systems integration, who combine smart home systems with renewable energy technologies. At the company’s headquarters, IT specialists for system integration also learn how to set up complex IT systems and networks for businesses. Technical system planners, in turn, specialize in computer-generated technical drawings of buildings. In Steyr, Austria, an apprentice is also training to become an electrical engineer specializing in electrical, building, alarm, and communications technology.

Our approximately 100 apprentices and dual-track students are currently learning their trade at a diversified company that offers them long-term security—and, in return, ensures we have highly qualified specialists and managers for the future,” says Andrea Linner, Head of Training at the Bachner Group, summarizing the win-win situation for both the company and the apprentices.
