Order at FENECON’s battery storage factory

Energy reloaded: New construction of the FENECON CarBatteryReFactory

FENECON GmbH was founded in Deggendorf in Lower Bavaria in 2011. It is a leading manufacturer of energy storage solutions and offers systems for private households as well as for trade, industry, utility companies and vehicle manufacturers. The solutions utilize the proprietary energy management system FEMS based on OpenEMS and thus enable grid and energy-transforming energy management and even intelligent sector coupling of electricity, mobility and heat.

Project description

FENECON is already an old acquaintance of the Bachner Group: our subsidiary, DieEnergieFabrik (DEF), has been working closely with the Lower Bavarian company for several years. We were also able to implement a number of large battery projects for industrial customers. We are pleased to be able to deepen this collaboration even further - especially on a project as forward-looking as the FENECON CarBatteryReFactory. Since early 2024, the battery factory in Iggensbach, Lower Bavaria, has been producing batteries from zero-, first- and second-life vehicle batteries. With the construction of the new CarBatteryReFactory, FENECON is increasing its overall production capacity.

Future-oriented construction projects? A case for the Bachner Group!

The Dingolfing team led by area manager Martin Kurmayer has received a comprehensive contract for the construction project in the Deggendorf district. In addition to the electrical installations, the Bachner Group also took care of medium-voltage technology, access controls and data technology on site. This means, a wide range of services is required! In total, our order volume for the FENECON CarBatteryReFactory was around 1.5 million Euros. “We are pleased that FENECON has placed its trust in us. My team and I are happy to help shape this forward-looking project,” says Martin Kurmayer.

Reaching the goal in a short time and with plenty of innovative strength

In early 2024, the CarBatteryReFactory started production. The Bachner Group had a very tight schedule for the entire project: When we received the order in the summer of 2023, it was already clear that production would begin in December 2023 or early 2024. “This short construction period is of course a challenge for us. However, good teamwork allows us to manage the project well,” says Kurmayer.

The CarBatteryReFactory product is innovative - this is also reflected in the architecturally sophisticated and ultra-modern building. When selecting components, e.g. the lamps, our team works closely with the architects to ensure that they fit perfectly into the overall picture of the battery factory.

A dynamic team for an exciting project

Overall, Martin Kurmayer draws an extremely positive conclusion about the project: “The collaboration with FENECON and with the general contractor Hinterschwepfinger always worked well. The distances were short and decisions were made quickly – that made our work a lot easier.” Working on the project with such a young and dynamic team was also fun. Our colleagues from the Dingolfing branch always have a positive attitude and they are passionate about their work.
