MTU Aero Engines AG
Challenge Accepted: Bachner and its Major Projects for MTU Aero Engines
Deadline? Tight. Motivation, know-how and commitment? In droves. The project: complex and uniquely challenging. A highly extensive construction project has been underway for our long-standing customer MTU Aero Engines, Munich, Germany, since October 2021. Due to be completed by March 2023, Bachner is completely rebuilding and readying Building 071 and the canteen of Germany's leading engine manufacturer for operation.
THE KEY TO HAPPY EMPLOYEES: A NEW CANTEEN BUILDING
Everyone needs them: lunch breaks. A time to recharge the body and mind, to swap news or – as is also the case at Bachner – to carry on discussions about the most exciting work topics. Ensuring that all this happens in a highly pleasant atmosphere, the canteen is being built in the new MTU Building 002 and will be ready by the end of 2022. This will offer a culinary meeting place for employees and a VIP lunch area for important business customers, including service technicians. Ensuring that the canteen kitchen and food service area go into operation from 1 January, 2023, Bachner is in charge of the electrical engineering, medium voltage, site electricity and low-voltage main distribution (LVM) for the modern canteen. Will everything be ready in time for January? Find out in the next issue of Bachner News!
ASSEMBLY HALL, NEW WORKSPACE AND A ROOF TERRACE
Heading for new heights: Once completed in 2023, MTU Building 071 will be 36 metres high, making it the highest point on the company's site. Building 071 is home to a large assembly hall with a spectacular roof: Above the hall, open-plan offices will provide MTU employees with a panoramic workspace designed according to the principles of the New Work creed. A green roof terrace will complete the penthouse floor. As equally outstanding as the architecture of Building 071 is the fact that Elektro Bachner was able to acquire all the trade work involved in this exciting project, including the electrical engineering, medium voltage, network technology, data technology, fire alarm systems, I&C technology and building electricity – all delivered from one expert source: ours. Currently still just a shell, but soon an innovative workspace – as a long-standing partner of MTU, Bachner has been able to advance this flagship project step by step with a well-coordinated team on site. First and foremost, led by Manfred Ettenhuber, who has been looking after MTU as a customer and acquiring contracts at Bachner for 40 years, and Gerhard Auer, the construction manager and "man on the ground ".
