Annual champion in the electrical engineering trade from the Bachner Group

Andreas Klein, an employee of the Bachner Group, was honored at two ceremonies as the 2025 Master Craftsman of the Year in the electrical engineering trade by the Munich and Upper Bavaria Chamber of Crafts. He received the title because he achieved the best results of all 270 examinees in his region.

“I am very pleased about the recognition that these two awards bring,” says Klein. “For me, however, the most important thing was the professional training in electrical engineering and the opportunity to pass on my knowledge.”

Andreas Klein's achievements were once again highlighted at the Bachner Group's employee awards ceremony in November. “It's great to have people like Andreas Klein on board at the Bachner Group who are so enthusiastic about their work,” says Hans Bachner, owner of the Bachner Group. “As a company, it is important to us to encourage such passion for the profession and to support employees in preparing for their master craftsman's certificate wherever possible. The multiple burdens involved in master craftsman training should not be underestimated. This makes the result achieved by Andreas Klein in his exam all the more admirable.”

Honored by Minister President Markus Söder in person

Klein received his first award at the master craftsman celebration held by the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria. With around 1,500 invited craftsmen and craftswomen, it is the largest master craftsman celebration in Germany. In his speech, Dr. Markus Söder, Minister President of the Free State of Bavaria, emphasized the importance of craftsmanship for the economy and its good reputation worldwide. Other speakers at the ceremony included Dieter Reiter, Mayor of Munich, and Franz Xaver Peteranderl, President of the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria.

Klein was honored for the second time at the VDE Bavaria Evening. At this annual event, the VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) presents the VDE Bavaria Award, which recognizes outstanding work in the categories of science, start-ups, and skilled trades. In the skilled trades category, Klein once again impressed with his performance in the master craftsman examination—and received the coveted award.

Medium and high voltage as a sustainable field of activity

Andreas Klein's fascination with electronics began at an early age: with his grandfather also being an electronics technician, Klein ultimately decided to train as an electronics technician for energy and building technology. In 2023, he then moved to Bachner, where he works in the medium and high voltage department.

“The field I have chosen requires the utmost precision – but that's what makes it so exciting,” explains Klein. "In my opinion, the field of medium and high voltage is very sustainable. It is increasingly in demand, but does not exist as a separate apprenticeship, only as a specialization within electrical engineering. I am delighted to be pursuing a career in this field together with the Bachner Group."
