Short report by TVA on the Bachner Foundation

Foundations make an important contribution to our society: they promote education, culture, tolerance, and equal opportunities – and help to break down prejudices and strengthen cohesion across borders. This is precisely where the Bachner Foundation comes in.

The Bachner Foundation's mission is to give young people around the world the same opportunities to start their lives in a cosmopolitan and self-determined way through scholarships. In addition to financial support, we accompany our scholarship holders through all the organizational steps – from finding accommodation to organizing travel and visas.

A report with heart

This summer, Sabine Bachner, three of our scholarship holders - Victor Lievano from Venezuela, Abdou “Salam” Camara from Senegal, and Paola Sitti from Togo - and Christian Daimer, Head of Building Automation, appeared in front of the camera. The result is a short report by the regional television station TVA, which shows the work of our foundation and the people behind it.

The focus was on questions such as: What is everyday life like for our scholarship holders in Germany? What challenges do they face on a daily basis? And what does their commitment mean for the Bachner Group as a training company?

In the video, Sabine Bachner talked about how she and her husband Hans Bachner established the foundation on the 100th anniversary of the Bachner Group with the aim of enabling young people from abroad to receive training in Germany.

The scholarship recipients also spoke openly about their personal experiences: from culture shock and separation from their families to small moments of wonder, such as when they saw snow for the first time.

The film was shot in Freising, where the language school for the scholarship holders' intensive language course is located, and on a construction site in Landshut. The result is a heartfelt film that impressively shows how tolerance, support, and solidarity work across borders.
