This summer, Ralf Gaffal, CEO of the Bachner Group, and Ramona Irrgang, Head of Human Resources at the Bachner Group, appeared on camera for the regional broadcaster MünchenTV. The topic of this episode of the program “Wirtschaftstreff Bayern”—produced in cooperation with vbw – Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e. V.—was the vbw study “Regional Labor Markets.” This study provides a clear picture of exactly when, where, and how many workers will be missing in Bavaria in the future—resulting in a total shortage of approximately 290,000 workers. These workers will be particularly lacking in rural areas of Franconia and the Upper Palatinate, while metropolitan regions will actually see a surplus.

Against the backdrop of this study, we were asked how we are addressing the skilled labor shortage and how we are working to counteract it. The journalists were also interested in the regional differences we observe at our various locations. The construction of our new branch in Landshut and the strategic thinking behind it were also key topics in the report.
