Electrical technology and communication technology for GEWO

GEWO hired the Bachner Group to set up the electronic infrastructure and install the fire alarm system and communication technology. "We are delighted to contribute to the realization of this extensive project," explained Valerian Kriwaczek, project manager and deputy head of the department at Mainburg. "I know that my team will deliver top performance every day to ensure that everything runs smoothly."

The large industrial building is impressive due to more than just its size. To create space for the new employees and the growing production facility, a new factory hall and parking garage are currently on the agenda. However, these buildings require a lot of technology – which is where our colleagues come in.
The individual orders include many special features. The fire alarm systems in the parking garage are equipped with cameras, which has the advantage of reducing false alarms – including the ones caused by dry bird dust. This technique is often used in tunnel construction, for example, because false alarms are often triggered there.
In addition, electroacoustic systems (ELA) with around 600 loudspeakers are planned for all buildings. The systems can warn employees in dangerous situations, and GEWO Feinmechanik will use them for other purposes on a daily basis. The loudspeakers will broadcast radio programs to the employees in the production facility – a top entertainment program, even at work!

GEWO is also going all out in terms of communication technology. "Comparatively speaking, a lot is being installed here," explained Kriwaczek. "For the data cables alone, we already have a total of 150 km. Overall, this project definitely focuses on investing in the future."
It is also challenging to realize the expansion plans during ongoing operations. Of course production must not come to a standstill. At the same time, the infrastructure has to be established, including the supply of high-voltage current. What’s more, eight transformers of 1,250 kVA each and 17 medium-voltage panels need to be installed, supplemented by almost three kilometers of medium-voltage cables. For the various busbars that are also required, we are working closely with Stangl Stromschienenmanagement from Friedberg. Elektrotechnik Uwe Kunzmann, a Bachner Group company, was also involved in the project and supplied control cabinets.

Our team only has positive feedback when it comes to the orders from GEWO Feinmechanik: "The building owners are very pleasant to work with. Thanks to short decision-making processes, we can continue to work quickly," said Kriwaczek in summary.
